This story "Rapport" (published 2025) is a prequel set shortly after the second novella, Artificial Condition (published 2018), and some time before the events of book 5, the novel Network Effect (published 2020). However, the story "Rapport" contains references to characters and situations first introduced in Network Effect, so "Rapport" may contain spoilers for Network Effect and subsequent works.
