Synopsis

A documented case of a diplomat's disappearance in 1809 is postulated as a slip into a parallel universe where Benedict Arnold died at the Battle of Quebec, leading to Napoleon never rising to power; the events in that universe of the diplomat's appearance are portrayed as a series of letters and reports.
