Synopsis
Tongue-in-cheek plan for "general overhauling and streamlining" of English spelling. Short and popular, so frequently <a target="_blank" rel="noopener" href="http://www.spellingsociety.org/journals/j31/satires.php">retyped / copied online, often mutated and mis-attributed</a>. According to the author's brief letter which appeared in <a target="_blank" rel="noopener" href="https://time.com/archive/6611806/letters-may-20-1957/">Time</a> on May 20, 1957, the version reprinted in ''Reader's Digest'' was "condensed".
