"A flash back story about a romantic young woman in Seville, Spain. She was of good family and scheduled to marry someone properly eligible. Instead, she fell in love with a man, who although of distinguished birth, was earning his living as a coachman. This attachment was finally broken when his employer threatened to discharge him if he married." (The New Yorker)
