<br> An Englishman visiting Paris is caught in the slums at night and must escape a gang of slumdwellers who intend to rob and kill him. <br> This features the section of Paris known for ragpickers and dustpiles.

Stoker's widow and literary executor noted in 1914 that this story and others had been "published in English and American periodicals", in her Preface (see) to the posthumous collection Dracula's Guest and Other Weird Stories (Routledge, 1914).
