This is said to be the earliest "sealed room" mystery known.<br>
Published in <i>Ghost Stories and Tales of Mystery</i>, 1851. An earlier version, entitled "Passage in the Secret History of an Irish Contess" was originally published in <i>Dublin University Magazine</i>, 1838, all according to E. F. Bleiler in <i>Ghost Stories and Mysteries</i>.<br>
