After unwittingly rescuing the elf prince Mechemel from danger, cafeteria worker Selene is offered three wishes as payment for her service. Knowing how wishes tend to backfire on the wisher she declines, asking instead for the prince to select a reward he feels is appropriate. Being completely out of touch with what constitutes a good gift for a modern human woman, Mechemel responds with increasingly outlandish and impractical offerings (like a castle, a carriage, or a prince's hand in marriage) in an attempt to repay Selene's favor.
