There may be two Ray Cummings stories with this title. The version published in Strange Tales of Mystery and Terror, September 1931 is a novella of about 25k to 30k words (40 pulp pages). The version published in Thrilling Mystery, March 1940 is about 16 pulp pages and is probably of novelet length. Both versions have been reprinted.
