Burnett and his first wife founded the short story magazine Story in Vienna, Austria, in 1931, and moved it to New York City in 1933. Burnett continued it, with his second wife Hallie Burnett from 1942, until 1967. In the 1930s and 1940s he was a short story writing teacher at Columbia University. --Wikipedia
