Leonora Carrington was a Surrealist painter and writer who was born in England, spent time in France (Paris and Saint-Martin d'Ardèche) in the 1930s (being in love with Max Ernst), then settled in Mexico City, marrying Emerico Weisz in 1946: both became the parents of Gabriel Weisz Carrington and Pablo Weisz-Carrington (according to diverse essays and biographies [for example by Heribert Becker]). She wrote in English, French, and Spanish.
