dansketegneserieskabere.dk:JOHNNY COMET first appeared in the papers Monday, January 28 written by Earl Baldwin and illustrated by Frank Frazetta. It was an adventure yarn about a young racecar driver living fast and driving hard while dealing with smugglers and the other usual bad guys found within the strips back then. Originally, writing credits were given to Peter DePaolo, the winner of the 1925 Indianapolis 500. This was probably done to help sell the strip and lend credence to the stories.
