James Arthur Anderson had a B.A. (1977) and M.A. (1987) from Rhode Island College, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Rhode Island. He joined the faculty of Johnson & Wales University in 1984 as Adjunct Professor, and was promoted to Director of Research and Grants 1n 1987. He later rejoined the faculty, and became Professor of English in 1995. He transferred to the university's North Miami Campus in 2000. He has also taught English and writing at Florida Memorial University as Adjunct Professor.
He has lived in North Miami, FL, since 2000 with his wife Lynn Llorye. He has two sons, Erik Anderson and Nicholas Anderson. His interests include horses and target shooting.
