According to the policy note in The Patchin Review 3 (and later), Jane Doe is a house pseudonym any contributor was allowed to use. The TOC for issues #1 and #2 used the name in quotes (in contrast to other unquoted names). The quotes were dropped starting in issue #3, coincident with the introduction of the policy statement identifying pseudonyms.
