Down to a Sunless Sea

There are two versions of this novel. Version A has been verified in the Hale hc, Pan pb and Heywood pb (British editions). Version B has been verified in the Simon & Schuster / SFBC hc and Fawcett Crest / Ballantine pb (US editions). Version A has 23 numbered, untitled chapters followed by an unnumbered chapter titled "Epilogue / Prologue". Version B has 23 numbered, untitled chapters with the exception of chapter 22 which is both numbered and titled "Epilogue / Prologue". There is no further material after Chapter 23. There are very minor textual variations throughout which have no impact on the story. Other than these minor textual variations, there are no differences in Chapter 22 between the two versions despite B having the "Epilogue / Prologue" title. The significant differences start at the end of Chapter 23. The last seven paragraphs of this chapter in Version A are omitted in version B. Additionally, the "Epilogue / Prologue" in Version A (about one and a half pages) is omitted in Version B. These differences completely change the ending of the story.

• The novel is science fiction but this pub is not issued under the "Hale SF" pub series
