{{tr|Thomas Francklin, D.D.}} ({{a|Thomas Francklin}} in 1780 1 essay and 2 stories by Lucian Selected by 1887 editor Henry Morley from The Works of Lucian, from the Greek (London: Printed for T. Cadell in The Strand, 1780) (Vol. I title page viewed at HathiTrust)

This work is #71 in both the UK and the US series, contemporary advertisements show.

Translated from the Greek by Thomas Francklin, D.D. This edition, perhaps in a later printing, is the unstated source for Project Gutenberg Ebook #10430 (see) --evidently from examination of the notes. Namely, Francklin's unnumbered footnotes are displayed as endnotes in the ebook, numbered 17 to 190 by reference to page numbers in this edition.

Francklin's notes are listed separately below, as "Notes" at the end of the Contents list, but in this edition they are footnotes to the translated text, pp. 5-192.

HathiTrust Digital Library provides full view of one incomplete copy from University of Michigan (or incomplete view if that book is intact). -- half-title: inscription dated "Dec 1887" -- title page undated, New York -- one page evidently not t.p. verso (torn, incomplete advertisement) evidently not t.p. verso) -- pages [5]-192

British Library record BL 001308089 shows its canonical name for the translator-editor, "Thomas FRANCKLIN, D.D., Rector of Brasted." WorldCat {{OCLC|14770401}} reports year 1893, maybe a later printing.
