This ballad was one of the pieces in the Percy Folio manuscript, in the part of the manuscript that had had half of every page torn off. Bishop Percy published a reconstructed version in Reliques of Ancient English Poetry (1765). This record is for Percy's reconstruction, with a separate record for the original.
