- The version of the story "Superiority" in this collection is about ten paragraphs shorter than in previous publications (for example, Fantasia Mathematica). The excision occurs part way through the fourth paragraph of the story which starts "When the war opened..." This abridgement is unintentional because the first sentence of paragraph four does not make sense. The ten paragraphs are restored in later editions, such as this Gollancz tp tenth printing
